Does Boiled Water make Worse Tea?

Testing out one of those commonly told 'facts' about brewing.

Share

I have always heard tea lovers saying that we should always avoid making tea with fully boiled water because the water becomes deoxygenated and therefore makes a poorer tasting tea.

I have always been suspicious about this, especially because I have enjoyed plenty of Dan Congs and PuErhs in my years which have been brewed by farmers with 'raging torrent' hot water.

So it was about time that we did a little taste test and the results were interesting and raised more questions! That's what I love about tea, there's always something else to learn.
