When we celebrated 5K subscribers we tasted an aged Dan Cong (from 2007) and we promised that when we hit 10K we would open up a 40 year old Dan Cong which has been sitting on my shelves for a while.
Thankfully you Teaheads out there did not leave us hanging for too long and 6 months later we were sitting on a rooftop in the sun (funny how we manage to find summer whenever we hit these milestones) tasting a crazy tea.
This was the most alcoholic tasting tea I have ever tried - full of plum wine and herbal liquor flavour. I am sure that the ageing had fermented the leaves to make a tea which actually contained some alcohol!
